B2B Platform Comparisons: JD Mart, IndiaMART, TradeIndia and More
Short answer
Our comparisons put Indian B2B platforms side by side on the same criteria every time: target audience, supplier discovery, catalogue, lead features, pricing transparency, business tools, buyer and seller suitability, verification, strengths, limitations and source dates. We don't publish scores or rankings without a reproducible test; instead each comparison shows what the sources confirm and what they don't, so you can decide for your category, ideally with a short side-by-side test of your own.

What the latest results tell us
Recent company disclosures add useful context to any comparison. IndiaMART reported 26 million unique business enquiries, 8.8 million supplier storefronts and 218,000 paying suppliers for the June 2026 quarter (IndiaMART Q1 FY27 release (opens in a new tab)); coverage noted a decline in paying suppliers driven by entry-tier churn (Inc42 (opens in a new tab)). Justdial reported 56.1 million active listings and 639,200 active paid campaigns across its platform, and introduced a JD Mart Super Sixer Pack for B2B sellers (Business Today (opens in a new tab)). These numbers aren't like-for-like, which is exactly why we don't rank on size.

"Best platform" comparisons by need
How to run your own platform comparison
General comparisons can narrow the field; only your own data can decide it. A fair test needs the same conditions on each platform:
Same catalogue
List the same products with the same detail on each platform, so differences come from the platform rather than your listings.
Same period and response standard
Run platforms in parallel for the same 60-90 days, with the same person answering at the same speed.
Same definitions
Use one qualification test and one lead log for all sources. See lead quality and ROI.
Compare cost per order
Spend divided by orders won, set against gross profit, not the number of enquiries.
Common comparison questions, answered briefly
Which platform has the most buyers? IndiaMART reports the largest platform-wide figures, including 26 million unique business enquiries in the June 2026 quarter. Justdial's larger visitor numbers are mostly local consumer search, so they don't compare directly. Neither tells you how many buyers search for your product.
Which platform is cheapest? None of the three main marketplaces publishes a full seller price list in the official sources we reviewed. IndiaMART names its packages and publishes lead allocations; JD Mart publishes only its 1% escrow fee; TradeIndia offers a free product listing. Compare written quotes on expected cost per qualified lead.
Which is safest for buyers? All three are established, legitimate platforms, and seller quality varies on all of them. JD Mart's escrow, free for buyers, is the most clearly documented payment protection among them. Whatever the platform, verify the supplier's GSTIN, ask for a sample and use staged payments.
Which is best for exporters? TradeIndia positions itself most clearly for the export-import community. Exporters usually need trade fairs and export promotion channels as well.
Which is best for selling to government? GeM, where Micro and Small Enterprises quoting within 15% of the lowest bid can be offered the chance to match it.
Comparing platforms on what matters to you
Different businesses should weight the criteria differently. A distributor of standard goods cares most about RFQ volume and response tools; a manufacturer of engineered products cares about catalogue depth and buyer quality; a new small seller cares about free tiers and short terms; a buyer cares about supplier choice and payment protection. Before reading any comparison, write down your top three criteria, then read each table for those rows first. You'll reach a clearer decision faster, and you'll avoid being swayed by features you'll never use.
| Reader | Weight most heavily |
|---|---|
| Distributor or wholesaler | Lead features, response tools, competition per category |
| Manufacturer | Catalogue depth, buyer quality, verification |
| New small seller | Free tier, term flexibility, pricing transparency |
| Exporter | EXIM orientation, international buyer reach |
| Bulk buyer | Supplier choice, quote comparison, payment protection |
What a comparison can and can't tell you
A comparison built from official documentation tells you what each platform offers, how it says leads are delivered, what it publishes about prices, and which tools you get. It cannot tell you how many buyers will contact you in your category, how good those buyers will be, or how many competing sellers will receive the same requirement. Those answers depend on your product, your city, your prices and how fast you reply, and they change over time.
That's why every comparison on this site ends with a method rather than a winner. Use the tables to shortlist two platforms whose model fits your business. Then run them side by side for 60 to 90 days with identical catalogues, the same response standard and one lead log. At the end, compare cost per qualified lead and cost per order against the gross profit those orders earned. The platform that wins that test is the right one for you, whatever any general ranking says, including ours.
If you're a buyer rather than a seller, the logic is simpler: all the main marketplaces are free to search, so post the same clear requirement on two or three and compare the quality of responses within a day or two. Choose the supplier, not the platform, and verify them before paying.
Justdial, JD Mart and IndiaMART: which is which?
A frequent source of confusion is comparing Justdial with IndiaMART as if they were the same kind of platform. They aren't. Justdial is primarily local search, best for businesses whose customers look for nearby providers; IndiaMART is a B2B marketplace; and JD Mart is Just Dial Ltd's B2B marketplace, the closer like-for-like comparison with IndiaMART.

Comparing platforms on total cost of ownership
Subscription price is only part of what a platform costs you. A fair comparison also counts the time your team spends answering enquiries, including poor-fit ones; transaction fees, such as JD Mart's 1% escrow handling fee per order (FAQ (opens in a new tab)); the effort of keeping catalogues current; and the cost of lost opportunities when leads go unanswered. A cheaper platform that sends many irrelevant enquiries can cost more in staff time than a pricier one that sends fewer, better ones. When you run a side-by-side test, record roughly how many hours each platform's leads consume, and include that time in your cost per order.
Why we don't publish scores
A score implies a measurement. We haven't run controlled, repeatable tests of lead volume or quality across platforms, and results differ sharply by category and city. Publishing invented numbers would mislead readers, and many "top 10" lists online do exactly that without stating a method. When we have a reproducible method and data, we'll publish it with the method.
How we keep comparisons current
Platform features, packages and prices change, sometimes quarterly. Every comparison table shows the date sources were checked, and we re-check after major announcements such as results releases or new seller packages. If you spot something out of date, our corrections policy explains how to tell us and what happens next.
Key takeaways
- Same criteria, official sources and dates on every comparison.
- No scores without a reproducible test; we state what isn't published.
- Recent results add context but aren't like-for-like across platforms.
- Your own parallel test is the best decision tool.
