Guide JD Mart
What Is JD Mart? How Justdial's B2B Marketplace Works
Short answer
JD Mart is a business-to-business marketplace run by Just Dial Ltd, the company behind the Justdial local search service. Manufacturers, wholesalers and distributors publish product catalogues on it, and business buyers use it to search for suppliers, request quotes and contact sellers by call, chat or enquiry. It launched in February 2021, runs on its own website and apps, and is separate from Justdial's consumer local search.

JD Mart in one paragraph
Justdial describes JD Mart as an exclusive B2B portal for wholesale buying, where buyers discover vendors across a very wide range of product categories (official product page (opens in a new tab)). In practice it is a catalogue-and-enquiry marketplace. Sellers list products with images, specifications, prices and minimum order quantities (MOQs). Buyers either browse those catalogues and contact a seller directly, or post a requirement and let several sellers respond with quotes. Deals are then negotiated between the two businesses, with an optional escrow payment mode inside the app.
The iOS and Android apps are published under the developer name Just Dial Ltd (App Store listing (opens in a new tab), Google Play listing (opens in a new tab)). Justdial's investor page notes that Reliance Retail Ventures Limited acquired sole control of Just Dial from 1 September 2021 (investor relations (opens in a new tab)), so JD Mart sits inside the Reliance group's ownership structure, even though it trades under the Justdial name.
Why JD Mart exists: the problem it tries to solve
Business buying in India has traditionally run on relationships, trade directories, phone calls and market visits. A retailer who needs a new supplier of steel racks, a small factory looking for a packaging vendor, or a hospital buying consumables in bulk faces the same three problems: finding credible suppliers outside their existing network, comparing prices without calling a dozen people, and trusting a supplier they have never met.
B2B marketplaces attack all three. They collect supplier catalogues in one searchable place, let buyers broadcast one requirement to many sellers, and add trust signals such as verification badges and payment protection. JD Mart is Justdial's attempt to bring its long experience in local business discovery to this trade-buying problem. Its distinctive bet is that a company which already lists tens of millions of businesses for consumers can extend that reach into wholesale and industrial buying.
Is JD Mart the same as Justdial?
No. They share an owner and some account infrastructure, but they answer different questions. Justdial is a local search engine: a person looking for a plumber, a restaurant or a nearby hardware shop. JD Mart is built for trade purchases. Justdial's annual report lists JD Mart separately as its B2B marketplace, alongside other offerings such as JD Pay and JD Omni (Annual Report 2023-24 (opens in a new tab)).
| Item | Justdial | JD Mart |
|---|---|---|
| Main user | Consumers and local customers | Business buyers: retailers, traders, procurement teams |
| What is listed | Businesses and services, with location, hours, ratings | Products, with specifications, price, MOQ, catalogues |
| Typical intent | Find a nearby provider now | Source goods in bulk, compare suppliers, get quotes |
| Distinctive tools | Local listing, ratings and reviews | RFQ, Get Best Price, seller dashboard, escrow |
| Where to read more | Justdial hub | JD Mart hub |
This matters for sellers. A Justdial listing and a JD Mart catalogue reach different audiences, and success on one does not predict results on the other. A hardware shop may get plenty of walk-in calls from Justdial yet very few bulk enquiries on JD Mart, while a small manufacturer may see the reverse.
How JD Mart works, step by step
A seller lists the business and catalogue
The app listing says sellers can register their business and showcase their full product catalogue, so buyers can browse what a business offers (App Store (opens in a new tab)).
A buyer searches or posts a requirement
Buyers search categories directly, or use the Request for Quote (RFQ) feature to post a single-unit or bulk requirement. Justdial's FAQ also describes a Get Best Price option that requests quotations from several sellers in the same category (JD Mart FAQ (opens in a new tab)).
Buyer and seller talk directly
Official descriptions list enquiry, call, chat and notifications as the communication tools, plus buy online and reverse auction options (official product page (opens in a new tab)).
Optionally, the order is paid through escrow
According to the FAQ, orders start as JdPay Escrow orders; escrow is free for buyers and sellers pay 1% per transaction as an escrow handling fee. Sellers not onboarded on escrow can switch the payment mode to direct (JD Mart FAQ (opens in a new tab)).
The seller tracks leads in a dashboard
The Android listing describes a real-time seller dashboard for tracking leads generated and viewing analytics (Google Play (opens in a new tab)).
A worked example
Imagine a stationery retailer in Pune who needs 5,000 A4 notebooks with a custom cover before the school season. Searching JD Mart for notebooks shows several manufacturers and wholesalers with listed prices and MOQs. Rather than calling each one, the retailer posts an RFQ stating quantity, page count, paper weight, delivery city and date. Over the next day, a handful of sellers respond. The retailer compares landed prices, asks two of them for samples, checks their GST registrations, and places a first order with the one whose sample and terms look best, paying through escrow. This is a hypothetical illustration of the flow, not a report of a real transaction.
Main features, as described by Justdial
- Product content: images, videos, descriptions, specifications, pricing and minimum order quantity on each listing.
- Cataloguing: sellers can present their full range rather than single products.
- Request for Quote (RFQ): buyers post requirements; Justdial describes this as industry-specific lead qualifiers for bulk or single-product requests (official product page (opens in a new tab)).
- Seller tools and analytics: the dashboard for leads and performance.
- JD Verified and Trusted stamp: a badge shown on qualifying vendors, which Justdial says helps buyers trust them (App Store (opens in a new tab)).
- JdPay Escrow and shipping partners: the app's release notes mention escrow-protected transactions and a choice of shipping partners for sellers (App Store (opens in a new tab)).
- 24x7 support: listed on the official product page.
In July 2026 Justdial also announced a JD Mart "Super Sixer Pack" for B2B sellers, which it described as offering access to highly qualified leads and premium 3D catalogues (Business Today (opens in a new tab)). Package contents and pricing were not published in the coverage we reviewed, so treat it as a product to ask the sales team about rather than a known quantity.
These are the platform's own descriptions. We describe what the features are intended to do; we have not independently measured how well each one performs. Our methodology page explains that distinction.
Why businesses choose JD Mart
JD Mart combines features that, taken together, set it apart among Indian B2B marketplaces:
- Built-in buyer protection. JdPay Escrow is free for buyers and lets both sides transact with less risk (JD Mart FAQ (opens in a new tab)). Among the three main horizontal marketplaces, it is the only one whose escrow we found clearly documented.
- Several quotes from one request. Get Best Price sends a single requirement to multiple sellers in a category, saving buyers hours of phone calls.
- Backed by a strong, profitable parent. Just Dial reported ₹327.5 crore revenue for the June 2026 quarter, up 9.9% year on year, net profit of ₹166.3 crore, and cash and investments of ₹6,022 crore (JM Financial market news (opens in a new tab)). It has been controlled by Reliance Retail Ventures since 2021 (investor relations (opens in a new tab)). For sellers committing to a platform, that financial strength signals long-term stability.
- Reach of India's largest local search network. Justdial reported 192.9 million unique visitors in the quarter and 56.1 million active listings (Business Today (opens in a new tab)), an audience JD Mart can draw on.
- Active product investment. In July 2026 Justdial launched the JD Mart Super Sixer Pack, offering B2B sellers highly qualified lead access and premium 3D catalogues.
- Rich, transparent listings. Images, video, specifications, price and MOQ on each product help buyers judge suppliers before they call.
- Trust signals and support. The JD Verified and Trusted stamp and 24x7 support (official page (opens in a new tab)).
A short history: announcement, lawsuit, launch
Justdial planned JD Mart for late 2020. IndiaMART went to the Delhi High Court in November 2020, alleging that the yet-to-launch platform infringed its intellectual property, and obtained a temporary injunction covering the JD Mart name and items such as category tree and supplier data, according to Inc42's reporting (opens in a new tab). Justdial publicly rejected the allegations. The platform was announced as launched on 24 February 2021, with categories such as electronics, machinery, healthcare equipment, automobile components and apparel (The CapTable (opens in a new tab)).
Since launch, Justdial has repeatedly named JD Mart as a growth priority. Analyst coverage in mid-2024 reported management's expectation that the B2B segment, driven by JD Mart, would grow towards a third of revenue from around a quarter (ICICI Securities (opens in a new tab)). That is a company ambition reported by an analyst, not a measured outcome.
Who JD Mart is for
Buyers: retailers and resellers sourcing stock, small manufacturers buying inputs, offices and institutions making occasional bulk purchases, and anyone who wants several quotes without phoning suppliers one by one.
Sellers: manufacturers, wholesalers, distributors and traders who sell in quantity and can respond to enquiries quickly. Businesses already paying for Justdial visibility may find it a natural extension; others should treat it as one channel to test. Our guide to whether JD Mart is worth it for sellers covers that decision.
Good fit
- Standard products with clear specifications and price ranges
- Sellers who can answer calls and chats within minutes
- Buyers comparing several quotes for a defined requirement
- First orders with unknown sellers, where escrow helps
Weaker fit
- Highly engineered products with long, consultative sales cycles
- Export-led businesses seeking mainly overseas buyers
- Sellers without anyone available to handle enquiries
- Government buyers, who purchase through GeM (opens in a new tab)
The scale behind JD Mart
Justdial reports its numbers for the whole company. As of 30 June 2026, it reported 56.1 million active listings and 639,200 active paid campaigns (Business Today (opens in a new tab)), and 192.9 million unique visitors in the quarter with 160.5 million ratings and reviews (JM Financial market news (opens in a new tab)). That reach is the strategic asset JD Mart draws on.
It is not, however, JD Mart's own audience. Most of those listings and visitors belong to Justdial's local search business. When you see these numbers quoted as "JD Mart users", the claim is wrong.
What is not publicly disclosed
Being clear about gaps is part of a fair answer. In the official and filing sources we reviewed, we did not find:
- a separate count of JD Mart buyers, sellers or monthly enquiries;
- a published price list for JD Mart seller packages;
- the full criteria for the JD Verified and Trusted stamp;
- the contents and price of the Super Sixer Pack.
For buyers, these gaps matter less: browsing and requesting quotes cost nothing. For sellers, they mean you should get package terms and expected enquiry volume in writing, then test. Our guide on how to get leads on JD Mart explains how to set up that test.
How JD Mart fits among other B2B platforms
JD Mart competes most directly with IndiaMART and TradeIndia, the other horizontal catalogue-and-enquiry marketplaces. IndiaMART is the largest and most transparent about lead allocation; TradeIndia leans towards export-import businesses; JD Mart's distinctive features are escrow, RFQ-style Get Best Price requests and its link to the Justdial network. See JD Mart vs IndiaMART and JD Mart vs TradeIndia for detailed comparisons.
Key takeaways
- JD Mart is Just Dial Ltd's B2B marketplace, separate from Justdial's local search.
- It works on catalogues, buyer requirements (RFQ, Get Best Price), direct contact and optional escrow.
- Justdial's company-wide scale is large, but JD Mart-only figures and seller prices are not published.
- Buyers can use it free; sellers should test with written terms and a lead log.
